  1. I was so pleased to see the program about Black Daddies Club on July 7th on Urban Pulse. I am a retired teacher and taught many children from other countries without fathers present in their lives. This idea of a club is such a great idea. It offers up an opportunity to give support to children as well as their single parent. I was a single parent (widowed) when my children were young and I know how difficult it was for all of us. One successful project that we did at our school to help immigrant kids have role models was to have each Gr. 5&6 student find one person from their culture that lived locally and interview them. Then each wrote the person’s story. All the stories were put together into a book which was published. Some of the people who had been interviewed came to speak at assemblies. It was a very positive experience. Congratulations all!
