As part of its extended programme, on October 19, 2013, the African Theatre Ensemble presented an audience forum that provided an opportunity for dialogue around the issues and themes of the COMA. The stage production of COMA explores the dilemmas faced by a family coming to terms with End of Life and Palliative care for their loved one. This is a timely topic as it is being hotly debated in our Government, media, communities and homes. The event was sponsored by Radio Regent, and the The Dr. Vibe Show. The Audience Forum was presented as a free town-hall discussion with local and online communities. The Audience Forum featured a cross-section of perspectives on this hot button issue with a lineup of respected panelists that include Dora Award winner and Theatre Practitioner Rhoma Spencer, Playwright Jude Idada, Chief Pathologist Dr. Ola Kassimb, lawyer Davies Bagambiire, Imam Habeeb Alli, Rev. Dr Francis Mpindu, Rabbi Jordan Helfman and Mr. Michael AbduRashid Taylor. Hosted by Veteran Media Personality Tien Providence, Radio Hosts U-Sheak Koroma aka ‘Kokofele’ and Dr. Vibe, the COMA Audience Forum was presented in the COBA Studio at Daniels Spectrum in Toronto.
