On August 18, 2012, we had the opportunity to attend The Black Daddies Club Annual Friends And Family BBQ.
During the day, we had the opportunity to conduct a special roundtable, “Keeping Our Communities Safe”, with members of Toronto’s Black community.
During the discussion, the participants talk about:
– What are some of the challenges that Toronto Black communities are facing?
– Our Toronto’s Black communities safe?
– Does “the village” still exist?
– Is the Black community unified?
– What do we need to do to strengthen “the village”? – what needs to be the foundations of the “new village”?
– What do we need to do to create the “new village”?
– How do Black communities “wake up”?
– The importance of each Black person to wanting to improve
– The importance that Blacks have a higher level of expectation
We would like to thank the Black Daddy’s Club for allowing us to be part of their celebration for the second year in a row.
