Black Canada Talking™ is a live online event that provides Black Canadians opportunity to give their takes and POVs on stories that are of importance to them.
The conversation topic for the July 12, 2020 edition of Black Canada Talking™ was Raising Black Boys From A Black Canadian Women’s Perspective.
The panelists were:
Event Planning Specialist, Inspirational Speaker, Podcaster and Activist, the multi-faceted Nicole Donawa Waldron works tirelessly for the betterment of her community. She believes in partnering with various individuals/companies that work to enhance the lives of others.
Passionate about the success of particularly future generations, she has also worked to raise awareness on affordable housing issues with organizations such as the CHF Canada, CHFT & the Cooperators, The community advocate has also been passionate on issues related to Violence against Women and Mental Health.
Nicole has recently launched the Victory Speaks Podcasts is to Motivate, Enlighten, an Empower you to live your best life, so you can experience the Victory you seek and the Victory Speaks Inspiring Conversations VidCast series to amply the inspiring conversation that we have with the people in our lives and share them with the world.
As an Event Specialist Nicole produces events with How She Hustles & Joan Pierre & Associates. Some of her past projects include being the Production Manager for Cuttin’ Style (Fashion Showcase at PANAMANIA), the Event Liaison for the Power WithIn International Conference speakers such as Dr. Phil McGraw and Robin Sharma. She was also Sr. Producer Kingdom Buzz television show, Editor at Large. for influence Magazine, Sr. Producer for the SHAI Awards (VIBE Awards) – which was Canada’s most diverse Christian Award Show. Nicole also worked as a Sr. Producer & Editor at Large for Silvertrust Communications (Planet Africa Magazine & Television Show).
An active volunteer in the community, is currently a member of the Family Advisory Committee the Quality Control Committee and the Horizontal Violence and Anti-Racism Committees at CAMH (Canadian Association of Mental Health). Nicole is the president of the Board at Atahualpa Cooperative Homes and also sits on the Pathway to Care committee and the Ontario Family Caregivers Advisory Network (OFCAN)
She is the Past President of the Board CHF Canada (Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada) and the Past President of the Ontario Council for The CHF Canada. She is also past board member of CHRY (VIBE 105.5fm), Past Board Member of the Coop Housing Federation of Toronto. Nicole has also served as an ambassador and Community Champion with SHSC’s Green Light on a Better Environment (GLOBE) Program, which aimed to promote conservation and a sustainable environment through resident engagement in co-op and non-profit housing.
Always passionate, she believes in working on projects that edify individuals to be the best they can be and organizations that have a positive impact on society. Nicole was named 1 of the 100 Accomplished Black Canadian Women, she named as 1 of the 150 Women in HerStory in Black by How She Hustles, she has received the Service Award from CHF Canada and presented with the Kathleen Blinkhorn Award for Excellence in Volunteerism (The Community Champion Program) By Social Housing Services Corporation.
