The Black Golfers Legacy Foundation mission is to raise the awareness of the achievements, contributions, and the participation of African Americans in the sport of golf.

Ms. Peggy Rhodes White is the daughter of the first person of African descent in a U.S. Open, Theodore Rhodes.

Stanley Moore is the founder and coordinator of The Black Golfers Legacy Foundation

During our conversation:

– Peggy talks about her father including how her father made his first set of golf clubs from a coat hanger and some of the challenges that her father faced being an African American playing golf – she also talks about The Ted Rhodes Foundation
-Stanley talked about his involvement with African Americans and golf – he also talks about the Black Golfers Legacy Foundation and why it is important for African Americans to get more involved in the golf industry
– Both of them agree that many African African golfers from the past were civil rights warriors and icons
– They both provide suggestions on what needs to be done to get more African Americans involved with golf
