Dr. Bill Johnson II is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. He has previously published on gender based oppression, racism, reconciling masculinity and mental health. His writing largely challenges traditional western notions of masculinity and examines the way patriarchal socialization negatively impacts the mental health of men and boys. “Dr. Bill” is dedicated to becoming a more compassionate, loving, and forgiving human being. In his spare time he is working on his dance moves!
During Domestic Violence Awareness Month last month, Dr. Bill discussed:
– Why is domestic violence under reported?
– The role of hypermasculinity and male depression when it comes to domestic violence
– What does the educational system need to do when addressing domestic violence
– What is mean to have a respectful relationship?
