Jojoflores has come a long way from his humble Montreal roots. Today, House Music’s “Mixed Tape King” has achieved global reach, and is now a tireless Ambassador of soulful dance music to every corner of the world. In addition to being one of the genre’s most respected Dj’s; jojoflores is also CEO of Gotsoul Records and founder of the infamous Therapy soirees – now enjoyed in 7 cities worldwide from Cape Town to Miami, San Francisco and Toronto. Along the way, he’s found time to open up a club, own a record shop, and produce numerous records and CD’s.
Jojoflores’ reputation for rocking a dance floor has rewarded him with multiple residencies at famed clubs world wide, including New York City’s Cielo; Nikki Beach Miami; Deep in Los Angeles; Lotus in Hawaii; along with venues in Melbourne, Dubai, Brazil, Santorini & Athens. He was voted Pioneer Stylus Awards 2010 & 2011 House DJ of The Year, KA Magazine 2010 Best DJ of Canada & Best International DJ 4 years running by NYC’s Undaground Archives. His dedication and hard work have also garnered him a corporate client list which includes MAC Cosmetics, Apple, Hugo Boss, Vanity Fair, Puma, Details Magazine, Banana Republic, Cadillac, and The Delano Hotel. He has headlined events with Wyclef Jean, Jody Watley, K-OS, Jazzy Jeff and not to mention he’s become Dsquared’s go-to DJ in Canada.
Jojoflores’ skilled packaging of music & events coupled with his trademark passion, have driven him to stay current. He and Gotsoul have skillfully navigated the digital age and they’re now making an aggressive foray into cyberspace. In September ’09, he launched his very own iPhone/iPad app at: iTunes.
Over the last 25 years, Jojoflores has worked his way up from 15 year-old resident to jet-setting icon. Through it all, he has remained steadfastly passionate about both his music and profession. With his transition into the new age of technology, jojoflores has signaled that he plans to remain relevant and aggressive while still “rocking the dance floor” for audiences the world over.
On Thursday, May 15, Literature for Life will be hosting its second annual Read & Believe fundraising event in support of their Women with Words Reading Circles program. The event, held at Product Nightclub in Toronto will feature performances by Montreal’s internationally acclaimed DJ Jojoflores and Vancouver born 2013 Juno & 2014 Radio Music Awards double nominee Vita Chambers.
Tickets for Read & Believe can be purchased online at literatureforlife.org/support/events until Tuesday, May 13 or for $40 upon entry on Thursday, May 15. The event kicks-off at 8:00 p.m. with a silent auction, and entertainment hits the stage at 10:00 p.m.
People can also support Literature for Life and their programming initiatives through donations, volunteering, or organizing their own event to help raise proceeds. Silent auction donations for Read & Believe are currently being accepted.

Literature for Life is committed to helping marginalized young moms develop a practice of reading in order to access opportunities and achieve economic stability. Through Women with Words, our weekly Reading Circle program, young moms meet with trained facilitators to read books that are relevant to their lives and engage in highly interactive discussions and writing tasks. As a result, young moms gain a renewed interest in reading and learning that is passed on to their children. To date, more than 2,200 moms have participated in our Reading Circles and more than 20,000 books have been distributed.
