Emmy Award-Winning Journalist Kelsey Minor attended Columbia College Chicago, where he earned his degree in Broadcast Journalism and Television.
While at Columbia College Chicago, Kelsey Minor interned with local news organizations learning the craft. Upon graduating, he moved back to Mississippi and took a job as an Associate Producer at the number one station in Jackson, Mississippi, WLBT-TV. Kelsey Minor quickly moved up the ranks to Producer and fill-in reporter. While also in Jackson, Kelsey landed a job as a morning radio news anchor with Southern Urban Network. A network powered by TeleSouth Communications. As morning anchor Kelsey voiced news headlines, heard on radio stations in many urban areas of the State of Mississippi. After two and half years in Jackson, Kelsey Minor moved to Boise, Idaho where he worked as a Reporter for KIVI-TV. After a year of working mornings, Kelsey shifted to evenings and starting working the political beat, covering politics in the capital. From Idaho, Kelsey went on to work as a Reporter and Anchor for Cedar Rapids duo station KGAN-TV/KFXA-TV. Kelsey became well know in the community and would often be the go to reporter for exclusive stories. While in Cedar Rapids, Kelsey Minor secured his first regional Emmy nomination and win for his reporting on a severe weather storm in Eastern Iowa. Emmy Award-winning journalist Kelsey Minor moved to New York City in 2013. In New York he works as a freelancer with multiple news outlets, including Fox News Channel where we works as a writer and African based Arise News Network, where he works as a writer and reporter.
Kelsey has other passions outside of television news. In 2012 he started writing his first novel “Unfinished Business”; which was published in the Fall of 2013. “Unfinished Business” is available for purchase on Amazon. Currently, Kelsey is working on the follow up to “Unfinished Business.”
