Starla Muhammad is an assistant editor writer for the influential independent Black-ownednational and international distributed weekly, The Final Call, which is a member of the National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA) an organization of over 200 Black newspapers. Her works have appeared in numerous print and online publications and featured in the 2012 book, “By Any Means Necessary, Malcolm X: Real, Not Reinvented”, a collection of articles, essay’s and commentaries published by the renowned Third World Press and the 2013 book “Defending Farrakhan, Book 2”.
A graduate of The Ohio State University, Ms. Muhammad’s multi-dimensional writing providesin depth analysis and compelling coverage in areas that are relevant to those seeking uncompromising truth and unique perspectives in news.
During her career Ms. Muhammad has interviewed such luminaries as Minister Louis Farrakhan,actress Lynn Whitfield, educator and economist Dr. Julianne Malveaux, public intellectual Dr. Cornel West, businessman and author George Fraser, media personality Tavis Smiley, activist and scholar Kevin Powell, hip-hop legend MC Lyte, activist Reverend Dr. Michael Pfleger and a host of others.
She has covered a broad range of issues in politics, religion, civil rights, social justice, art and entertainment, business and agriculture. Ms. Muhammad has also on several occasions been asked to discuss her articles on radio programs.
