Noliwe M. Rooks is a associate professor in Africana Studies and Feminist, Gender and Sexuality Studies. at Cornell University. She was born and raised in San Francisco She went to Spellman College in Atlanta and has a Doctorate from the University of Iowa. Professor Rooks has written a number of books.
