A few weeks ago, The Dr. Vibe Show™ lost a friend, a brother and a mentor Richard Iton (aka “RIton”). We first met “RIton” a number of years as part of, “Brotha To Brotha” an older Black group of Black men in Toronto who mentored younger Black men. “RIton” was the deep thinker of our group who always looked out for the best interested of each mentor and mentee. “RIton” loved his music. I remember many a session at his place enjoy great music!! After “Brotha To Brotha” ended, “RIton” went on to Professor of African American Studies at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illnois. Myself and “RIton’s” birthdays are one day apart. Over the last twenty years, we would also send each other birthday wishes. Special.
Below are two panel discussions that “RIton” participated in.
“RIton” myself and others will miss your love of music, your mind and your heart.
