Beginning in September of 2011, Michael Russer began a personal transformation that included a diagnosis of prostate cancer, radical prostatectomy, follow up intensive radiation treatments and full blown impotence. While most people would call it a tragedy, he considers his resulting impotence to be one of the biggest blessings in his life. It is because of his impotence that he and his partner discovered an entirely new approach to experiencing levels of emotional and physical intimacy that far exceeds anything either experienced prior to when things were working “normally”.
During our conversation, Michael talks about:
– Why he left for California just before he was to receive his high school diploma
– His life being an entrepreneur and successful businessman since his early twenties
– His married life and when did he and his ex-wife decided to get a divorce
– In September 2011, at sixty years old, he decided to change his life
– How he handled being diagnosed with cancer and how is still overcoming it
– Indigenist™ from West Australia (Brim, Australia)
– How did he dealt with being impotent as a result of the cancer treatment
– How did he and his ex-wife handle him being impotent during the last eleven years of their marriage
– The first physical encounter that him and his current partner had together in which his intimacy reach a beautiful level
– What are men’s reaction to his story
– How should men and couples handle erectile dysfunction
– He describes three different types of intimacy: emotional, physical and spritual
