Our first of our regular monthly guests is Kenya Williams. Kenya was born and raised in California. Kenya is the oldest of seven children raised by a single mother and is the mother of one daughter. She is a high school graduate and spent time in the military and the Air Force. Kenya is the owner of two successful businesses.
During our first monthly conversation, we discuss the issue of molestation. The topics range from why Kenya wanted to discuss about this subject, why the Black community needs to discuss this issue that affects Black women and men, her experience and the experiences she has heard from others, how she was molested by five different people between ages of nine and fourteen and how it was “swept under the rug” by her mother, her years of suppression and how she handled seeing the family friend who molested her and it was a breakthrough and forgiveness moment.
We then discuss how has these events shaped her opinion of men,
how sharing this with her daughter has strengthened their relationship, why are we not talking and acting against molestation,
What does the Black community needs to do about this issue? and Is the Black church doing enough to address this issue?
Kenya ends the show with her message for those who have been molested and for those who committed molestation who have not admitted their act.

Powerful topic. It takes a strong person (male or female) to do what Kenya has done. She receives the utmost respect from myself.
We fully agree with you that Kenya is a strong person. It is not easy to deal with molestation let alone talk about it.
Kenya is a very strong lady. We really respect her. We really appreciate her sharing about her personal experiences in regards to molestation. We look forward to her sharing with us and audience on a monthly basis.
